A despondent spaceship captain comes across a suicidal scientist, floating alone in an asteroid belt. In each case, these grim, introspective stories shed light on some part of the human condition, which, despite the changing times, has remained very much the same. Thrilling and perceptive, "Fever Dreams and Tragedy" is both an enjoyable introduction for the sci-fi neophyte, as well as an enjoyable addition to the library of any speculative-fiction connoisseur.
